How to get to Elba
Elba is easy to reach and therefore an excellent destination for a glamping holiday in Italy. Most travellers choose to drive and take the ferry. From the Netherlands, Belgium, or Germany, you drive through Switzerland or France to the Tuscan port of Piombino, where several ferry companies operate daily services to Elba. The crossing to Portoferraio, Rio Marina, or Cavo typically takes up to 60 minutes, allowing you to reach the island quickly and comfortably. It is advisable to book ferry tickets in advance during high season.
If you prefer to fly, you can travel to Pisa, Florence, or Rome. From these airports, you can easily reach Piombino by rental car or train to board the ferry. Elba also has a small airport near Marina di Campo, offering seasonal direct flights from various European cities.
